Solution
In most cases, individuals suffering domestic abuse refuse to speak up because they do not want to accuse the person that "loves" them. Victims become blind because they believe that their perpetrator is going to change. The perpetrator abuses of the victim and then apologizes for his acts promising that it won't happen again. Victims fall for the tricks and this is when a cycle of domestic violence begins. If not broken, the cycle can lead to a victim's death. This issue can be solved by helping victims realize that it is not okay to be abused by a person who claims to love you.

The issue of domestic violence seems to have possibly stem from previous neglect or abuse. Therefore, an effective way to tackle domestic abuse may be through parenting styles. Authoritative parents encourage autonomy, but at the same time these parents set boundaries. This parenting style is effective because children tend to have a high self-esteem when they become adults. Meeting the need of self-esteem at an early stage in life may decrease the chances of abusive behavior.
